The standard design of this trap is designed for trapping waxwings, bullfinches, crossbills, redpolls, siskins, etc. Suitable baits include rowanberries, spruce-cones or various seeds, depending on bird species to be caught. It is always convenient to arrange a call-bird near the cage.
The device is completed with additional triggers for alternative utilisation.

Setting of the trap
Basic arrangement is based on a self- trigger and utilisation of an inserted bait.

After the removal of the rod and partial exchange of the trigger the cage can be used to catch also other insectivorous birds, rails and crakes, etc. Live meal worms are fixed directly to the trigger by means of a wire.
